Having a hardware shop wasn’t enough to keep up with Nurul’s expenses. His parents needed constant medical attention. Starting the scrap business helped him gain more money. Thus, he could take care of his parents.
After receiving the grant money he could repair his shop. He said, “I have been working in both my hardware and scrap shop together. And ever since I started my scrap business I have gotten in a better financial state.”
Before the training, people in our area used to treat us badly. Some of them even beat the feriwalas who collected the wastes. After the training, our sector got formalized; we even got uniforms and safety equipment. Now people know us, they know what we do” he added. Nurul thinks all businessmen should know about the necessary information through the association.
People who used to shun us for our jobs, now they support us after the training and the association.
