Syed Noor started his scrap business with the thought of cleaning the streets by selling the waste. “Selling waste will save the environment and I can earn more money too” stated Syed. He was working as a farmer before the scrap business. After a while, he realized selling scrap would be more profitable. He wants his business to be a family business. And he wants his legacy to go on with his business.
He already bought a hydraulic press with the grant money. It helped him earn more. He is buying a plastic cutter soon with the profit. He has been trying to work for society ever since he became the general secretary of the association. He is even trying to have a loaning system to give out loans when a member needs it.
I have been working in the scrap dealing sector for about 18 years, I have seen people and I have seen them change after UNDP’s project. This is the change I wanted to see for years.
